HIGH GRANGE SCHOOL HAS GOT TALENT!
On the 5th April 2019, High Grange School hosted its first talent show, 12 contestants bravely took to the stage to demonstrate their talents. We are very lucky to have such a talented group of students and the performances on show ranged from comedy to cookery, from storytelling to singing with a dash of artwork and piano playing for good measure.
Despite the nerves, every single contestant got up to perform in front of a hall full of staff and students as well as our VIP judges:
• Jamie Thrasivoulou – Derby’s poet laureate
• Ben Holder – Jazz violinist and pianist
• Morgan Brind – Derby panto legend
The judges were extremely impressed with the talent on show and found the task of choosing our 3 winners very difficult indeed!
After much deliberation the winners were as follows:
• Zak Jones – Best Performance / Presentation
• Amelia Jacques – Best Effort
• Kade Roman – Most Creative
I would like to offer my congratulations to all of our winners. I would also like to extend these congratulations to all of the participants. Despite nerves and a room full of people you all did yourselves and the school proud. You are all winners for having the confidence and the talent to get up and perform and I hope you will throw your hats in the ring again next year.
Finally, I would like to thank all the staff and students that helped in a variety of ways to make this a success. In particular to Matthew Critchley who gave up a considerable amount of time to assist with setting up for the show.
Thanks again to everyone,
Jonny Salt – Performing Arts Co-ordinator
