Spring 2025 House Events

summary of 2025 Spring House Events
The Academic year has been in full swing and the competition within the houses is very close. The Spring term has seen an array of different house events such as: the Art event, trampolining, Science Day, badminton, senses and deaf awareness, World Book Day, Pi Day and the pending family day.
Highlights of the term include World Book Day which saw students dressing as their favourite characters or hero and participated in a variety of activities during the afternoon. The students enjoyed the film, games and reading sessions available to them. The students from Lower and Middle School really enjoyed making a shrinky dink and got to show off their creative side.
The PE Department have been active as ever and the students turned out well to complete trampolining, which is a school favourite.
As we approach the final term there is all to play for and all of the events are expected to be highly contested. As the weather gets a little warmer the events move outside and the students can look forward to a sponsored walk, a visit from the police, cricket and tennis, National Sports Week, biking and Sports Day.
A particular highlight of the term was the Senses and Deaf Awareness ‘House’ event. The office team organised for their BSL tutor to come into school with their hearing dogs. The students thoroughly enjoyed learning about the hearing dogs and the variety of ways in which they can assist. The students gained the opportunity to learn about the BSL alphabet and were ‘finger spelling’ their own names. It was lovely to see some of our students who have a variety of experiences with BSL helping and discussing their own links to BSL.
It continues to be an extremely enjoyable and hard-fought contest between all of the houses this term and High Grange School are delighted to see the continued commitment and enthusiasm from students and staff.
