When Saturday comes

Sent to COVENTRY
Early on in the Spring term 2025 I decided to give a few students the opportunity to visit the Coventry Building Society Area to watch Coventry City Vs Watford. Many would ask why? Well earlier in the autumn term we went to watch Coventry VS Derby County and Olivia who is a key stage 3 pupil watched the game; however, she is a huge Watford fan. So, Olivia asked if we could return and watch Watford. I am all for fairness, so I arranged for four pupils and three staff to go to the game. The game was on a Saturday, so we met at 10.30am and left school at 11.00am. We had a McDonalds first and then fortunately arrived in time for Olivia to meet the Watford players off their team bus. Olivia was genuinely very excited and had a couple of selfies. The game was quite entertaining. Fortunately, Coventry City won 2-1! I did feel sorry for Olivia but since that game Watford have been on an impressive run of form. The pupils were all brilliant and Marlowe enjoyed the match and was able to lie across three seats and chill in the second half. We will look to arrange another fixture either after Easter or in the new season. Olivia wants to go to a Watford home game what an away day that would be! I would like to thank Beth and Emma who kindly volunteered to support the trip and gave up their Saturday to ensure the pupils had this experience and opportunity.
